Joan's Garden 1997 |
|||||
| We bought the house in April 1997. This view of the front was taken a couple of years later, when the rose-covered fence was doing much better. The overgrown tree was pruned back at a later stage. | ![]() |

| As you can see, the garden had been well-established but unfortunately allowed to run riot. Shrubs were unruly, and the trees had bolted upwards. The childrens' playground was well-weathered and showing some deterioration. | ![]() |
||||
| More rampant growth, showing the patio on the left side of the house. The daphne bush outside the kitchen window gave out a lovely perfume when flowering, but was too overgrown to keep. | ![]() |

| The childrens' adventure playground is very popular with the young ones. It now has the slide removed, as it lacks sides and one small girl fell over the edge on the way down. The pongas (tree ferns) grew from portions of trunk (?stem) which contained the garden. [May 1997] | ![]() |
